Polyjuice Potion by Grimoire Tea
Polyjuice Potion Green Tea
Grimoire Tea
$8.00USD for 8-10 Cups
I purchased a set of 10 samples from Grimoire Tea, including the Polyjuice Potion Green Tea sample. This was an exclusive sample set that was offered, through Instagram, to the first 10 people to claim one. After claiming and paying for my sample set, I received permission to review the teas on my blog.
She also gave me a few samples to use for Tea Trivia Tuesday on Instagram!
Ingredients
Green Tea, Jasmine, and Butterfly Pea Plant
Packaging
I’m constantly raving over Grimoire Tea’s packaging. This review will be no different. While they are currently re-doing their lables, the premise of their packaging remains the same. Instead of a clear bottle, as pictured, you will receive your teas in an amber glass bottle with a gorgeous label that beautifully depicts the namesake of the tea. Also included on the new labels, are steeping instructions as well as a list of ingredients. The top is reinforced by a layer of thick solid wax. Their unique packaging alone is enough of a reason to try their teas!
Included in my package was a business card with steeping instructions. The card includes temperatures and times for all different kinds of teas. Until now, this was a great addition to their packaging since steeping instructions were not inluded on the old labels.
Because I ordered a sample set, my teas arrived in little resealable plastic bags. Absolutely appropriate for what I paid for! I opened my sample of Polyjuice Potion Green Tea to a sweet but subtle floral aroma. The green tea was well masked by the jasmine and the butterfly pea flowers. While I personally like the smell of green tea, I know many people who do not so by aroma alone, this would be a great tea for those wanting the benefits of a green tea but prefer a more floral tea.
How To Brew
Polyjuice Potion is a Green Tea so I looked at the instructions card for what was recommended for a green tea. Grimoire Tea recommends steeping between 165-180ºF for 2-3 minutes. This is pretty standard for a green tea so I went with what I know. I steeped my Polyjuice Potion Green Tea at 175ºF for 2 ½ minutes.
The Experience
Boy was this a fun tea to watch steep! Just pouring the hot water in the tea cup started the magic! I kept having to peek under the steeper to see what colors were brewing. As the tea steeped, swirls of blue from the butterfly pea flowers slowly formed in the water. When I finally took the tea leaves out of the cup, I had a beautiful cup of BLUE tea. It was really hard to capture the color of the tea on camera but It was beautiful. I picked the perfect cup for this tea.
It tasted just as sweet as it smelled. The jasmine and butterfly pea flower overtook the green tea completely. This was a very relaxing tea that could be enjoyed any evening before bed. The aroma was incredibly relaxing and each sip was just as sweet as the one before it.
This is absolutely a tea that I would keep on hand. Not only is it beautiful and tasty, butterfly pea flowers have many great benefits. Butterfly Pea Flower tea is full of potent antioxidants, and has even been studied for its ability to help protect the skin against premature aging.
According to a study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, butterfly pea is highly valued in Ayurvedic medicine and
has been used for centuries as a memory enhancer, nootropic, antistress, anxiolytic, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, tranquilizing and sedative agent.
Butterfly Pea Plant has become a bit of a fad recently, for good reason. If you are looking for a great way to get a boost of antioxidents, I highly recommend giving Polyjuice Potion a try.

My daughter would love this and I shared it with her. Of course, in the books the potion should not taste good. Glad this one does!
